The Group's Purpose

As this environ dictates a culture of learning I thought I might "wiretap" the wisdom which resides in this here online domain.

This group serves as a brainstorming platform to discuss the future of online indy publications and ought to allow us to collaboratively devise a sustainable way to ensure independent publications are capable of sustaining themselves and sustain the culture of knowledge sharing without agenda.

So to not quite a Moral Fibre group, but at least it gives us something to talk about in the quiet times...like this one time, online, the ANCYL tried to compel me to leave their leaders alone..

Clearly one of the first topics of debate as recently pointed out by Allan Kent on twitter is; what is an independant online publisher? Furthermore how are they different from say an individual bloggers take on the world?

I guess for this group let me define an indy online publisher as a moderated community of writers, writing for an online brand, loosely controlled by an administrative team.
